Hill Dunlop’s artistic interests and instincts began at an early age. His emerging talents, recognized in elementary school, resulted in a recommendation to participate in a young artists program at the Detroit Institute of Arts. During this time, he was introduced to the different mediums, styles, and history of great art. He was also inspired and instructed by his father, a talented visual artist himself.

Although Hill continued to indulge his creative impulses, he decided to pursue his education with undergraduate and graduate degrees in history. As a working father of three, he still found time to continue and enhance his creative output with an amazing variety of subjects and interests. Working as a commissioned artist for both personal and commercial projects while continuing his own creative interests, he has accumulated an impressive collection of people and portraits, music and musicians, landscapes and nature, cities and cars, abstracts and more.
